James comes from a civil servant family in which his mother was the longest serving elected official in Lewis & Clark county Montana, as the Treasurer, Clerk & Recorder. She retired in 2020. During her tenure, she ran for this office without an opposing candidate.
James has also had the opportunity to be able to work in the county election headquarters in the 2000 general election.
As a public servant, James has dedicated more than half of his working life to serve the people of the state of Washington. James' work ensures that our government records are transparent and preserved for future generations. Transparency is one of the biggest issues James advocates for and will work tirelessly for not only the district but the state as well, making sure that we adhere to all transparency laws and procedures. James lives in Thurston County with his spouse and two cats.
